Liverpool eased to a 2-0 win over West Ham at Anfield on Saturday afternoon with Raheem Sterling and Daniel Sturridge getting on the score-sheet.
After a goalless first half, the Reds eventually broke the deadlock as Raheem Sterling got behind the Hammers defence before slotting home for 1-0 in the 51st minute.
Then came the moment Liverpool fans have been waiting for as Sturridge was introduced for the final 20 minutes and he didn’t take long to make his mark, as the striker made it 2-0 in the 80th minute with a fine near post finish after being teed-up by Philippe Coutinho.
After the game, several Liverpool players have taken to Twitter to react to the win with many congratulating Sturridge on making a goal-scoring return to action.
Simon Mignolet, Lucas Leiva, Alberto Moreno, Raheem Sterling, Jose Enrique, Mamadou Sakho and Sturridge himself have all been on the social media site to celebrate Liverpool’s latest win.
