This is our match preview ahead of Man Utd’s clash with Brighton at Old Trafford including team news, line-ups and prediction

Manchester United will look to get back to winning ways in the Premier League when they take on Brighton at Old Trafford on Sunday afternoon.

The Red Devils secured a morale-boosting 3-0 win over Partizan Belgrade at Old Trafford on Thursday night to book their place in the knockout stages of the Europa League with Mason Greenwood putting-in a fine performance.

However, it’s league matters that are the focus this weekend and United have some serious work to do if they’re to finish in the top four as they’ve accumulated just 13 points from their opening 11 games so far.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side slumped to a 1-0 defeat to Bournemouth last weekend to leave them sitting mid-table so they desperately need to get back on track with victory over Brighton tomorrow.

However, that won’t be a straightforward task as the Seagulls head to Old Trafford sitting two points above Man Utd in the table following consecutive wins over Everton and Norwich.

Team news

Man Utd expect Harry Maguire to be fit after he picked up a knock in midweek while Scott McTominay is also likely to overcome a minor ankle problem that he sustained against Partizan Belgrade.

Solskjaer also suggested that Victor Lindelof could be available after missing the game on Thursday night with a back issue but Paul Pogba remains on the sidelines with an on-going ankle injury.

Ashley Young is suspended after accumulating five bookings this season so Brandon Williams could start at left-back while Nemanja Matic, Diogo Dalot, Axel Tuanzebe, Angel Gomes, Timothy Fosu-Mensah and Eric Bailly remain on the sidelines.

Brighton will be without Bernardo and Jose Izquierdo while Adam Webster has also been ruled out with an ankle ligament injury.

Predicted score

Man Utd 2-0 Brighton: United have not lost any of their previous 11 home meetings with Brighton in all competitions and the Seagulls have won just one point at Old Trafford in their last six trips so the hosts should be confident of picking up all three points tomorrow. Man Utd’s form has been inconsistent all year but there were positive signs on Thursday so Solskjaer will hope to build on that performance. I do think Brighton will give a good account of themselves but United should ease to a 2-0 win.
