Premier League fans are used to watching the best footballers every week but the EPL is also home to some of the most exciting young talents in the world. Here we take a look at some of the most promising young players to keep an eye on during the 2021/22 campaign.
Many of the best young players play at the top clubs but some have been loaned out to the lower division clubs to gain first team experience. The most accurate premier league predictions always back the elite clubs to win the title but fans are also keen to follow the lesser known clubs due to the competitiveness of the league so players can still catch the eye.

Carney Chukwuemeka
“Probably the best 16-year-old in the UK” was the way Aston Villa chief Christian Purslow described Chukwuemeke a year ago. That praise is probably justified as the midfielder helped the Villa Under-18s to win the FA Cup, which attracted the interest of Bayern Munich and Juventus. Chukwemeke is known for his array of skills and is considered to be one of the most talented teenagers in the country so he’s definitely one to keep an eye on this year.
Billy Gilmour
On 10th July 2019, in a pre-season friendly against the Bohemians in Dublin, then Chelsea boss, Frank Lampard, handed Gilmour his first team debut and it seemed he’d go on to become a regular. However, with Lampard sacked, Gilmour struggled to make the breakthrough under new boss Thomas Tuchel so was sent out on loan to Norwich last summer. The Scottish international is expected to play plenty of first team football at Carrow Road and has the ability to be a stand-out player.
Mason Mount
Arguably the most established player in the list, Mount is still only 21-years-old so has lots left to prove. The attacking midfielder is already a key part of Tuchel’s impressive Chelsea side and he could really push on to become a top class player this season. Mount has plenty of competition for places at Stamford Bridge but he’s managed to establish himself as a regular for both club and country. This could be the season where Mount announces himself as a player with world class potential.
Ademipo Odubeko
The fast-legged striker Odubeko was described by David Moyes as “a player we have high hopes for” after nabbing him from Manchester United’s youth set-up in 2019. Various European heavyweights were interested and he’s still regarded as a youngster with huge potential. The 19-year-old is on loan at Huddersfield but with West Ham’s lack of striking options up front, there is talk he may go back to the Hammers in January to compete with Michail Antonio.
Bukayo Saka
Another youngster who’s already established himself at the top level, but it’s easy to forget Saka is still only just turned 20. The winger is a key part of Mikel Arteta’s starting eleven at Arsenal and is expected to be a focal point in the team for years to come. Arsenal are building a young side and Saka is firmly at the centre of Arteta’s plans so the Gunners will be relying on the youngster this season. Saka has also forced his way into Gareth Southgate’s senior England squad so he’s certainly a young player to keep an eye on this season.
Michael Olise
Olise caught the eye of several top flight clubs after being named as the EFL Young Player of the Season last year following a superb campaign with Reading. Crystal Palace won the race for his signature and splashed out over £8m to sign the exciting winger in the summer. The 19-year-old has featured 7 times for the Eagles this season so it’s going to be interesting to see how he gets on in the Premier League under Patrick Vieira.
