[Video Highlights] Burnley 0-1 Arsenal: Koscielny Bags Late Winner For Gunners

By on October 2, 2016

Arsenal moved to within two points of leaders Manchester City after Laurent Koscielny scored a fortunate last minute winner against Burnley at Turf Moor this evening.

We struggled to find our rhythm during the opening stages of the game and chances were hard to come by as a well organised Burnley side sat deep and refused to give us any space to play in.

We started to apply the pressure after the break with Alexis Sanchez clipping the post with a volley before Theo Walcott also went close to opening the scoring with a curling effort.

Burnley almost grabbed an unlikely winner as Keane smacked the crossbar with a header and it looked as though we’d have to settle for a point as we went in to stoppage time all square.

However, there was to be late drama as Walcott flicked on a 92nd minute corner for Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain to poke home at the far post but his effort deflected in off Koscielny’s hand and over the line.

The referee allowed the goal to stand so we take home the three points which sees us move up to third in the table and to within two points of leaders City who lost at Tottenham earlier today.
