Man Utd Team News: 4 To Miss FA Cup Tie + Mourinho Offers Sanchez Update

Jose Mourinho has provided a team news update ahead of Man Utd’s FA Cup clash with Yeovil Town while he’s also provided news on Alexis Sanchez’s debut

Manchester United will be looking to book their place in the fifth round of the FA Cup when they take on Yeovil Town at Huish Park on Friday night.

Jose Mourinho has been speaking to the media at his pre-match press conference this afternoon and he’s offered a team news update ahead of the game.

The United boss has confirmed that he will rest ‘a couple of players’ for the trip to the south west but insists he will still field a strong side and take nothing for granted against the League Two minnows.

United have vital Premier League games against Tottenham and Chelsea coming up as well as their Champions League tie with Sevilla so understandably Mourinho needs to juggle his squad but he still plans to select a strong team tomorrow night.

The Portuguese coach told ManUtd.com:

“We want to win. We know what cups are. Manchester United played a couple of years ago at Yeovil [in January 2015] and they know the difficulties they felt.

“So we have to go with a very strong team. We are going to rest a couple of players; we also have a couple of problems that we want to try to resolve, with problems for the next matches in February in the Premier League and also Champions League. But it will be a very strong team.”

One player who could be involved is Alexis Sanchez as Mourinho also confirmed United’s latest signing will be involved in the squad against Yeovil but he stopped short of confirming whether the Chilean international would start.

Sanchez completed his move to Old Trafford as part of a swap deal involving Henrikh Mkhitaryan joining Arsenal earlier this week and it looks like he could make his bow on Friday night.

However, United will be without four first team players as Eric Bailly is still recovering from ankle surgery while Daley Blind is also still missing with a muscle problem.

Zlatan Ibrahimovic is expected to once again miss out with a long-term knee injury while Michael Carrick hasn’t featured this season due to a heart condition.
