Arsenal are looking to pull off a sensational double midfield swoop for Napoli’s Jorginho and Nice star Jean-Michael Seri this summer, according to the Mirror.
The Gunners are reportedly on the verge of appointing Mikel Arteta as Arsene Wenger’s replacement and the inexperienced Spaniard will know he needs to revamp the squad if Arsenal are to become contenders next season.
Midfield is an area of concern as Jack Wilshere is set to walk away for nothing after failing to agree terms over a new deal while Aaron Ramsey is also being tipped for a move if he doesn’t sign an extension this summer.
With Santi Cazorla’s playing career in doubt following 20 months on the sidelines with a serious Achilles injury it means Arsenal are likely to be in the market for two midfielders and it seems we’ve got our targets lined-up.
The Mirror claim that Arsenal are looking to pull off what would be a sensational double swoop for Jorginho and Seri – who are two of the most in-demand midfielders in Europe right now.
Jorginho’s agent confirmed last week that Arsenal were among the clubs to have made contact over signing the Napoli star this summer with the Metro claiming a deal would cost in the region of £60m.
Competition would be fierce as most of England’s top clubs have also been linked but the Italian international would be an excellent addition to the squad if we could somehow lure him to north London.
Seri is also on Arsenal’s radar with the Evening Standard claiming that director of football Raul Sanllehi has held talks with his representatives about a possible £40m move to the Emirates.
The Ivory Coast international has starred for Nice in recent years but he’s also attracted interest from the likes of Chelsea and Manchester United so we’ll also face stiff competition for his signature.

Jorginho is a deep-lying playmaker while Seri is more of an energetic, box-to-box midfielder so they could prove to be the dream partnership if we could pull-off this proposed £100m double swoop.
