Paquet: No Hazard Agreement In Place

By on September 2, 2011

Lille have rejected claims that Liverpool have secured first option on signing Eden Hazard following Joe Cole’s loan move.

Hazard has been linked with Europes elite in recent years, with both Arsenal and Liverpool strongly linked with a move this summer.

Reports had claimed Liverpool were given first refusal on the highly-rated Hazard as part of a deal that saw Joe Cole join the French champions on loan for the season. However, Lille general manager Frederic Paquet has denied these reports and stresses that no such deal has been agreed and Hazard remains in their future plans:

“There is absolutely nothing in that,” Pacquet told The Independent. “There is no link between Joe Cole and Eden. There has been no discussion.

“We know Eden Hazard is interesting some of the best clubs in Europe, but he is here and part of the project.”
