Manchester United Vs Crystal Palace: Preview & Predicted Teams

Manchester United welcome Championship side Crystal Palace to Old Trafford in tonights Carling Cup Quarter Final.

Manchester United will be going with a youthful approach in this game playing the Da Sila twins, Fryer, Smalling, Fedrico Macheda, and Diouf. The coach also hinted that Pogba will start and that Ravel Morrison will play a part in the game.

The game is at Old Trafford, which makes playing the youngsters from the start much easier, knowing it isn’t a hostile environment as the previous two Carling Cup matches have been (Leeds and Aldershot).

Sir Alex will be looking for the youngsters to impress, after the draw against Newcastle, which was due to the terrible officiating by Mike Jones and John Flynn.

Predicted Man Utd Team:

Lindegaard, Fabio, Smalling, Fryer, Rafael, Park, Gibson, Pogba, Welbeck, Macheda, Diouf.

Crystal Palace drew their last game against Millwall and had a penalty which went wide. Palace have lost their last two away games by a combined 5 goals. There last away victory was in the middle of last month against Ipswich, which was a 1-0 win with the winner scored by McCarthy in the 55th minute.

They will need to make a quick start to worry the youngsters of Manchester, so they will no doubt come out the blocks flying. It’s likely to be an open game in which Crystal Palace will play on the counter.

Speroni, Clyne, McCarthy, Gardner, Garvan, Scannell, Jedinak, Zaha, Murray, Moxey, Martin.
