Liverpool are lining up a summer move for Swedish international Rasmus Elm, according to the Daily Mirror.

The report claims that Liverpool sent chief scout Steve Hitchen to run-the-rule over the 24-year-old midfielder and compile a dossier on the player for manager Kenny Dalglish.

The interest in Elm is believed to have been initiated by former director of football Damien Comolli, and despite the Frenchman being relieved of his duties at Anfield, Liverpool’s interest in the player remains.

Elm has netted an impressive 12 goals so far this season for AZ Alkmaar – the kind of return Kenny Dalglish could have done with this this season, with his top scoring midfielder currently on just 5 goals – and the Mirror claim he could be available for as little as £7m.

What do you think of Liverpool’s reported interest in Elm? Would you like to see him at Anfield?

I just hope, it isn’t the same cr*p scout, who selected Adam, Carroll, Downing and Henderson, because if he is, he sould have been sacked month’s ago!

its good to have a goal scoring mid fielder in the team and i am optimistic about transfers from holland. Look at suarez, kuyt, tiote, van persie… They are all good talents and most of them came to the PL for cheap. Damien comoli was mistaken for signing the overrated english players like carroll and henderson and i hope we are on the right track now if we are looking for good players in other leagues

Not going to happen. We’ve all known Arsene and this Arsenal club a long time yeah ? So we know this is a load of bulhilst. Never will Arsenal buy a player for that much money never. Arsenal is and will never be built around a single player. Wengerball is about movement, technical passing, creativity and invention. If this comes true then I will gladly eat my words .but it won’t so I’ll have to settle for eating my lunch right about now be real.gooner4lyf
