Nasri Launches Another Attack On Arsenal

Samir Nasri has taken another swipe at former club Arsenal, saying he no longer has to dream about winning titles now he’s at Manchester City.

The French midfielder is set to start in tonight’s Group D clash with England at Euro 2012, but has taken time out of his preparations for the game to once again have a dig at his former team.

Quoted in the Daily Mail, Nasri has said he’s glad he left the Emirates for the “far more competitive” City due to the fact he is now winning titles, not dreaming about it.

The 24-year-old left Arsenal last summer after contract negotiations with the club stalled and many Gooners claim he joined City for the money. However, the player has always insisted it was ambition and not cash that lured him to the Etihad Stadium, and he once again reiterated this in the Mail.

‘I’m glad I left because City are far more competitive and are winning titles, not dreaming about it.

‘I have said 300 times I did not leave Arsenal for money, only for sporting aspirations and if people don’t believe me that’s their problem.’ Nasri said.

The latest snipe comes after Nasri celebrated winning the Premier League title by telling Arsenal fans to ‘Celebrate your third-place achievement and I will focus on winning titles.’.

Nasri’s comments come just 24 hours after reports in the press claimed that City boss Roberto Mancini was ready to sell the midfielder this summer and Arsenal was touted as a possible destination.

Not sure Arsenal fans will be to keen on seeing him at the Emirates any time soon!

Please let someone snap this little twat’s achilles tonight. He is an odious, petulant, disagreeable and ungrateful bell-end. He was wanted by no clubs when we bought him due to his meningitis type illness. We saved his arse and he gave us 3 good months!

On don’t understand the hate and negative attention towards Nasri, he was like it or not a big part of arsenal and always in wengers plans. Soccer players leave their clubs for other clubs to win trophies all over the world!firstly where is the loyalty in that?and secondly why is it if a player leaves to any other club they bid a good farewell to that player and all is over but just because the player leaves to city he is taunted and ridiculed be cause he apparently left for the money… All big clubs have money that’s how they are able to compete and city had to start somewhere so they went on a spending spree…are you telling me if you were in his position and got offered a move to city with the likes of silva, toure, aguero, tevez, balotelli, kompany, richards, hart etc a team that has been put together and can actually win trophies that you wouldn’t go?its about ambition that’s what city has and that’s what the players have!

All major clubs have money that’s what allows them to compete for titles, and yes more money than arsenal that’s why arsenal aren’t winning because these other teams are pumping money into specific players…but in order to compete you have to start somewhere like city are doing now with all there money but by starting like they are it shows ambition…they not trying to prove a point about how rich they are…Nasri was always in wengers plans and he was a happy starter there but arsenal weren’t winning titles and if you’re a great and highly popular and recognized soccer player who can be in the starting team for most clubs why would you not go if offered to do so to go win titles? If barcelona offered the same price and wages for nasri arsenal supporters would never have said anything about nasri leaving for money because barca has history. City is trying to build history and no one is giving them a chance to do that with all there comments…if you were nasri and you were wanted by a team that had ambition to win titles as well as names like silve, toure, hart, richards, balotelli, aguero, tevez and kompany you saying you wouldn’t go? I doubt it…he was happy to leave on good terms with arsenal but the arsenal fans hit out at him first…I don’t see any comments made about fabregas which reiterates the barca city difference that barca have history…let nasri be he’s winning titles now

If the rumour is true, not sure he would want to come to Arsenal after all his taunts.

Iceman you should be glad he left then, if he only gave you three good months. Face it, Arsenal can’t keep their best players and are about to lose another one in RVP.
The jealousy against City is hilarious, and nothing more than when it comes from whingeing Gooners.

@PJ : You will surely talk.. coz money can buy good amount of good players..! I would respect Man City.. the day they develop talent of their own.. or groom young prospect talent which they acquire. Alas they won’t do it.. coz they wanna win titles easy.. way

@iceman – I can remember a time when i had a 28″ waist, a mop of curly hair, all my own teeth and used to get plenty of attention from females. Now i am balding, greying, with middle aged spread and i have to accept that the good times are all in the past, a bit like your team.

Everyone is being very unfair to Na$si, how can people accuse him of going for the money when he too a paycut to £5k a week(ahem!). No point in lying $amir (to yourself as much as anyone), it is so bloody obvious.

Nasri lacks respect, despite scoring only three goals for City he can still talk, ask yourselves why Clichy,Toure,Viera, and Adebayor are quiet. It like a stupid girl who seeks attention from her Ex-Boyfriend after getting a new boyfriend,FOR ME ITS NASRI TO MOVE ON

    June 11, 2012 at 4:34 pm

WOW nasri just cannot stop talking about ARSENAL can he why is he always looking back he should be looking forward. Not unless he want to do a u turn.

man city just about beat a poor MAN UTD side to the title on goal difference.
It will be interesting to see how nasri fits into man city long term plans I think they bought him in the short term.

How can you bring up toure, viera and adebayor?toure and adebayor were signed by a completely different manager and city only wanted viera for a year and now he’s doing the developing at city…I don’t see people hating on him and he’s grooming city not arsenal for the future

Na$ri seems to wish he stayed back at Arsenal cos he can’t stop thinking ab the club. Personally i think he needs grow up and move on. Hes playing for city now so he shoule shut up and work for his big pay.

Arsenal supporters should get over themselves. For a full season Nasri has taken the jibes that he left simply for cash. He is merely pointing out that he was justified in moving, and winning the title shows this. The sad truth for Gooners is that if players want trophies and glory then they are better off leaving The Emirates.
Oh yeah and Arsenal only produce their own stars eh? What short and convenient memories.
