Arsenal had to come from behind to beat an impressive Malaysia side XI 2-1 on Tuesday thanks to late goals from youngsters Thomas Eisfeld and Chuks Aneke.
An experienced side including the likes of Vermaelen, Gervinho, Santos, Arteta, Diaby, Chamakh and Gibbs took to the field in the first half but were being well matched by the hard-working Malaysian side. After Santos missed two good opportunities to put the Gunners ahead, Malaysia took a shock lead when Mohamad Azmi Muslim unleashed a thunderous 30-yard rocket just before half time that gave goalkeeper Vito Mannone no chance.
Arsene Wenger rang the changes at half time with Afobe, Aneke, Chamberlain, Walcott, Miyaichi, Bartley, Eastmond, Song, Eisfeld and Yennaris among the players given some playing time. Afobe missed a great chance to equalise in the second period when he couldn’t beat the keeper after being sent clear.
However, Arsenal finally levelled after some good work down the right by Yennaris, who squared for Eisfeld to make it 1-1 before Aneke won it with a deflected strike. Watch the goals below:
Congratulations to the 2 young players that so deserved those goals. Come on Arsenal!!

It looks like the Malaysian Arsenal fans were having a blast. They were able to root for both sides and cheer every goal.
An Arsenal eclectic 11 met a Malaysian 11 wanting to please their fans….a win/win situation! Lets see how they do against Manure later this month!
Estifield and aneke deserves first team players
Game of two halves. Malaysia won it during the 1st half. Arsenal got no excuse about fitness. Most of the Malaysian player are good muslims who observed fasting during the day. Its Ramadhan month. Thats why almost all 1st half players were replaced along the 2nd half. Looking at the stats, Malaysia were much better in term of goal attempts and on target attempts.
in arsene wenger we trust
Season coming we will win one cup or 2
Yeah Denis, you got it right. Arsenal are destined to win trophies this new season. I smell the Premier league and the European Champions League. Believe.
