[Video Highlights] Reading 5-7 Arsenal: Walcott & Giroud Inspire Stunning Gunners Comeback

By on October 30, 2012

Arsenal are through to the quarter finals of the Capital One Cup after an unbelievable 12 (twelve!) goal thriller against Reading, with the Gunners running out 7-5 winners after extra-time.

The home side raced into a 4-0 lead inside the opening 40 minutes thanks to goals from Roberts, Koscielny (o.g), Leigertwood and Hunt, but Arsenal pulled one back just before half time through Walcott.

The visitors then made it 4-3 with goals from Giroud and Koscielny and Walcott completed a stunning comeback in the 5th minute of injury-time when his effort just sneaked over the line before Jenkinson made sure.

Out-of-favour striker Marouane Chamakh then made it 5-4 before Pogrebnyak levelled for Reading. However, in the 121st minute Theo Walcott fired home from close range before Chamakh grabbed his second in the dying seconds to end an extraordinary game 7-5 in favour of The Arsenal. It has to go down as one of, if not THE, greatest game ever.
