With the summer transfer window in full swing, there is plenty of gossip doing the rounds in the newspapers so we’ll keep you up-to-date with the latest transfer rumours. Today, Liverpool eye a Dutch wonderkid and Luka Modric wants a move to Manchester United.
Liverpool eye Zivkovic
Firsy up and the Mirror are reporting that Liverpool are keen on signing FC Groningen ‘wonderkid’ Richairo Zivkovic this summer.
The 16-year-old has emerged as one of the most highly-rated youngsters in Holland after breaking into the first team during the second half of last season and broke Arjen Robben’s record for being the youngest ever goal-scorer for the club.
Groningen director Hans Nijland has confirmed that Liverpool representatives are in regular attendance to keep an eye on Zivkovic but they face stiff competition from all the ‘top clubs’ in Holland.
“All the top clubs in Holland want him but Liverpool are here every week too.
“They are watching him closely and very keen.” Nijland is quoted as saying by the Mirror.
Modric wants United move
Next up and the Mirror are also reporting that Luka Modric is keen on a move to Manchester United this summer and is ready to reject the chance to be part of a swap deal for Gareth Bale in order to seal a move to Old Trafford.
United have so far been frustrated in their attempts to bring in a marquee signing this summer and Modric has emerged as a potential alternative to Barcelona’s Cesc Fabregas. The Mirror claim that David Moyes is keen to bring in two midfielder before the window shuts and the Croatian is on his radar along with Everton’s Marouane Fellaini.
The newspaper suggests that Spurs have been hoping to get the 27-year-old as part of a world record package for Gareth Bale but it’s understood that Modric has no intention of moving back to White Hart Lane and wants to wait and see if United ramp up their interest with a formal bid.
