Liverpool beat Sunderland 3-1 on Sunday at the Stadium of Light to move level on points with second-placed Tottenham.

Daniel Sturridge opened the scoring in the 28th minute in controversial circumstances when he bundled home a corner at the far post but replays showed the ball had struck his arm. Luis Suarez then got off the mark on his first Premier League start of the season after Sturridge had teed him up but the hosts got themselves back in the game shortly after half time when Giaccherini found the back of the net after Mignolet spilled Ki’s long-range effort.

Sunderland pushed for the equaliser but the visitors sealed the win in the final minute when Suarez swept home following a devastating counter-attack. Watch all the goals here.
