Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger has given an update on the fitness of Aaron Ramsey and Mathieu Flamini with the duo set to return to training on Saturday.
Ramsey has been out since straining his hamstring during the final stages of our 2-1 victory over Leicester City at the Emirates on 10th February.
He was expected to be sidelined for two to three weeks so it looks like he’s bang on schedule as Wenger revealed at his press conference this morning that Ramsey is set to return to training tomorrow.
The Welshman will be joined by Flamini with his fellow midfielder also set to return to action after straining his own hamstring during our 2-0 FA Cup victory over Middlesbrough earlier this month.
Neither player will be in contention to face Everton at the Emirates on Sunday afternoon but they could have a chance of being available for Wednesday’s trip to Loftus Road to take on Queens Park Rangers.
Ramsey’s return in particular is well timed as Wenger also revealed that Jack Wilshere has been forced to undergo a minor procedure on his ankle. This latest set back isn’t expected to keep him out for too long but he’ll probably miss at least the next three games.
With Mikel Arteta still out, we’ve had limited options in the middle of the park lately so it will be a real boost to have Ramsey back as we look to get our season back on track following Wednesday’s disappointment against Monaco.
