Liverpool Lining-Up Bid For €10m Real Madrid Midfielder, Player Keen On Move
Liverpool are lining-up a bid for on-loan Real Madrid midfielder Lucas Vazquez this summer and the player is believed to be keen on a move to Anfield
The January transfer window is now closed but that won’t stop the newspapers from speculating ahead of the summer so we’ll bring you all the news and gossip. Today, Liverpool are linked with Real Madrid midfielder Lucas Vazquez….
Liverpool are lining-up a bid for on-loan Real Madrid midfielder Lucas Vazquez this summer and the player is believed to be keen on a move to Anfield, according to the Express.
Vazquez joined Madrid’s youth team as a 16-year-old in 2007 and went on to represent the C and B teams but has failed to make the breakthrough into Carlo Ancelotti’s first team set-up.
The 23-year-old was loaned out to Espanyol last summer, where he’s scored twice in 19 La Liga appearances this campaign, and the Catalans have an option to make the move permanent at the end of the season.
However, the Express claim that Liverpool have now joined the race for his signature with Brendan Rodgers understood to be keen on bringing Vazquez to the Premier League this summer.
The newspaper suggests that the winger is keen on making a switch to Anfield but Ancelotti will have the final say over the midfielders future, with Madrid believed to value him in the region of €10m (£7m).
It remains to be seen whether Liverpool will be willing to pay that kind of money for the Spaniard but he could be a useful addition to their squad if they can get a deal agreed.
Vazquez is predominantly used as a right winger but he’s also capable of playing on the left side of attack. With Rodgers adopting a new 3-4-3 formation, the player could provide cover on either flank as well as in either of the two supporting roles behind the striker, so he’d give the Reds boss plenty of options.

I wouldn’t think he’d be able to command a first team place just yet as the likes of Moreno, Markovic, Ibe, Sterling and Coutinho will be ahead of him in the pecking order, but he’d add yet more depth to the Merseysiders squad if Liverpool are able to win the race for his signature this summer.
