A unique charity football match is being held at Anfield this afternoon as Steven Gerrard and Jamie Carragher captain two all-star XI’s to raise money for Liverpool’s official charity the Liverpool FC Foundation.
Gerrard has called in big names and former team mates from all around the globe with Arsenal legend Thierry Henry starting up front while Chelsea skipper John Terry plays in defence alongside Glen Johnson and John Arne Riise.
Xabi Alonso starts alongside Gerrard in midfield while the likes of Luis Suarez and Fernando Torres are among the subs.
Carragher is joined by former Liverpool team mates Pepe Reina, Alvaro Arbeloa, Harry Kewell, Stewart Downing and Jonjo Shelvey in the starting line-up.
Chelsea striker Didier Drogba starts alongside Mario Balotelli up front.
