Mourinho Hopeful Of Triple Injury Boost Ahead Of Chelsea’s Visit To Arsenal

Jose Mourinho is hopeful that Didier Drogba, Diego Costa and Loic Remy will all be passed fit for Chelsea’s visit to Arsenal on Sunday afternoon, according to the Telegraph.
Top scorer Costa has missed the last two games against Queens Park Rangers and Manchester United after aggravating a hamstring injury against Stoke earlier this month and was initially expected to be out for at least three weeks.
Remy then picked up a calf problem which ruled him out of Saturday’s narrow 1-0 win over United and it looked as though Chelsea were facing a striker crisis when Drogba was forced to pull out of a charity match on Monday after suffering an ankle injury.
However, the Telegraph are reporting this afternoon that Mourinho is privately hopeful that all three of his forwards will recover in time for their top-of-the-table clash with Arsenal this coming weekend.
The newspaper states that Mourinho gave his players two days off following Saturday’s victory but Costa, Drogba and Remy joined the rest of the squad in heading back to Cobham on Tuesday to begin preparations for Sunday’s huge game at the Emirates.
All three strikers will be carefully assessed over the coming days and will work hard with the clubs medical team, but it’s understood that the Blues boss is quietly confident the trio will be available for selection.
If that turns out to be the case then it will be a major triple boost for Chelsea as they can take a huge step closer to reclaiming the title this weekend. The West Londoners head into the game with a 10-point lead over second-placed Arsenal and if they lost, it would open the door slightly for the chasing pack.
However, victory at the Emirates would mean Chelsea can secure the Premier League title by beating Leicester at the King Power Stadium next Wednesday night, so Mourinho will be desperate to get his firepower fit again to ensure they get over the line.
