Arsenal had the majority of the play but were held to a 0-0 draw by a resolute Chelsea side at the Emirates this afternoon.
Here are player ratings from Gooner Mac:
Arsenal
Ospina 6/10 | Fortunate not to give away a first half penalty but made a couple of routine saves
Bellerin 7.5/10 | Excellent headed clearance to deny a certain goal and was always keen to bomb forward to help out in attack.
Mertesacker 7/10 | Sliced a good opportunity to find the target but was solid in defence.
Koscielny 7/10 | Failed to cut out Fabregas’s through-ball which led to the Oscar penalty shout but was otherwise excellent.
Monreal 7/10 | A threat going forward and kept Hazard under wraps.
Coquelin 7.5/10 | Another impressive shift from the Frenchman. Broke up play and kept things simple.
Cazorla 6.5/10 | Missed a good chance in the second half but kept things ticking over in midfield.
Ramsey 6/10 | A disappointing game for the Welshman. Couldn’t really influence the game from the right wing so kept drifting into an already over-crowded midfield.
Ozil 7/10 | Very influential in the first half but faded after the break. Missed a good chance late on.
Alexis 7/10 | Always works hard and a real threat, but his final ball was lacking.
Giroud 6/10 | Struggled to break free from the grasp of Terry and Cahill.
Subs:
Welbeck (5) Walcott (N/A)
Any slim hopes of the title are now gone but Arsenal can go three points clear in second if we win our game in hand and we’ve got another FA Cup final to look forward to, so it’s still shaping up to be an excellent season.
