Chelsea got their Premier League title defence back on track with a controversial 2-0 win over 9-man Arsenal at Stamford Bridge on Saturday afternoon.
Here are player rating:
Begovic 6/10 | Always alert to the danger of Walcott and made a smart save to deny Ramsey late on.
Ivanovic 5.5/10 | Was perhaps lucky to only come away with one yellow after making 7 fouls. Kept gave away free-kicks in dangerous areas.
Zouma 8/10 | Scored the crucial first goal and make a superb last ditch tackle to deny Walcott racing clear. Justified his selection over Terry.
Cahill 7/10 | Solid display from the England international alongside Zouma.
Azpilicueta 7/10 | Kept Ramsey fairly quiet and dealt with the attacking threat of Bellerin well in the first half.
Matic 6/10 | Lost out to Coquelin in the midfield battle early on but dominated once the Frenchman departed and Arsenal were down to 10.
Fabregas 7.5/10 | Pulled the strings from deep and played some wonderful passes. Assisted Zouma’s opener with a fine ball.
Pedro 6/10 | Should perhaps have done better with an early chance but was always a danger in behind the Arsenal back-line.
Oscar 6/10 | Booked for a late foul on Koscielny but kept the ball moving in attack.
Hazard 7/10 | Lively display capped off by a late goal, although it took a huge deflection off Chambers on the way in.
Costa 6/10 | Forever the villain, he lived up to his reputation once again. Extremely fortunate not to see red for a slap on Koscielny while he played a big part in Gabriel’s dismissal too. You can’t argue with his effectiveness though.
Subs:
Ramires 6/10 | On to see the game out late on.
