Arsenal vs Man Utd Preview, Team News, Likely Line-Ups, Betting Tips & Prediction
Arsenal entertain Man Utd at the Emirates on Sunday. Here’s a preview with team news, likely line-ups, betting tips and predicted score for the game.
Arsenal will be looking to bounce back from their midweek disappointment whey they entertain Manchester United at the Emirates on Sunday afternoon.
The Gunners slumped to a shock 3-2 defeat to Olympiacos on Tuesday night to leave their hopes of qualifying for the knockout stages of the Champions League hanging in the balance.
Arsene Wenger was understood to be furious with his players for their lackluster display so he’ll be hoping for an immediate response this weekend.
However, they’ll be up against an in-form Manchester United side with last weeks 3-0 win over Sunderland seeing the Red Devils move to the top of the Premier League table.
Louis van Gaal’s men also got back to winning ways in Europe after a 2-1 win over Wolfsburg on Wednesday night so they should be full of confidence heading in to this game.
Team News
Laurent Koscielny is expected to miss out after suffering a hamstring injury against Olympiacos in midweek so Per Mertesacker is likely to partner Gabriel in defence.
Petr Cech is set for a recall in goal after Wenger controversially started David Ospina against Olympiacos while Nacho Monreal should come back in for Kieran Gibbs.
Aaron Ramsey is also expected to start having been rested in midweek with Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain the most likely to drop out.
Jack Wilshere, Danny Welbeck and Tomas Rosicky are all out with long-term injuries.
As for United, they’ve been handed a big boost with Michael Carrick passed fit after missing the win over Wolfsburg with a minor knock.
Ander Herrera could also be pushing for a recall while Ashley Young may replace Antonio Valencia in the back four.
Luke Shaw and Marcos Rojo remain out through injury.
Likely Line-Ups
Predicted Score
Arsenal 1-1 Man Utd: United are starting to really find their form but I’m expecting a response from Arsenal after their midweek disappointment. This should be an entertaining game but I think it will end in a score draw.
Betting Tips
Arsenal are the even money favourites but I think it will end in a draw and my prediction of 1-1 is on offer at odds of 6/1 while I also like the look of Theo Walcott opening the score at 9/2. If we combine those two bets in a score-cast, then we get very tempting odds of 30/1.
Back a 1-1 draw with Walcott to score first at odds of 30/1
