Liverpool Dealt Huge Blow As Star Man Picks Up Fresh Injury Concern
Liverpool have been dealt a blow with Daniel Sturridge suffering yet another injury concern after being ruled out of the Bordeaux clash with a foot problem
Liverpool have been dealt a blow with the news that Daniel Sturridge has suffered yet another injury concern after being ruled out of the Bordeaux clash with a foot problem, according to the BBC.
The England international only returned to the Reds’ squad on Saturday and was an unused substitute at Manchester City after finally overcoming a niggling knee injury that had kept him out of action since October 4.
Sturridge was fully expected to be in the squad for tonight’s Europa League clash against Bordeaux and was hoping to get some minutes under his belt.
However, the striker was a surprise exclusion from the squad when the team sheets were announced and the BBC are one of several media outlets who are reporting that he’s suffered a foot injury.
The outlet claims Sturridge complained of discomfort in his foot after training and will be sent for a scan to determine whether there is any lasting damage.
This is the latest in a string of injury problems for the 26-year-old with Sturridge’s career plighted by a series of fitness problems. He missed over five months last season with a thigh injury before being ruled out for another two months with calf and thigh injuries during the second half of the campaign.
The former Chelsea hitman has managed just three appearances so far this season and is yet to play under new boss Jurgen Klopp, so the striker will be praying his latest concern turns out to be nothing serious.
