Arsenal Injury News: Gunners Dealt Fresh Injury Blow
Arsenal have been dealt a fresh injury blow with the news that an attacker’s comeback has been delayed and he’s now not due to return until February
Arsenal have been dealt a fresh injury blow with the news that Danny Welbeck’s comeback has been delayed by a further month with the attacker now not due to return until February, according to the Express.
Welbeck hasn’t featured for Arsene Wenger’s team since way back in April when he suffered what was initially thought to be a relatively minor knee injury.
The problem proved extremely difficult to shift and the 25-year-old ended up missing the back end of last season and the start of the 2015/16 campaign.
Welbeck was eventually forced to undergo an operation in early September in the hope of finally resolving the issue and he was expected to make his return after the New Year in January.
However, it appears the forward has suffered a set-back in his recovery as the Express are now reporting that Welbeck’s comeback has been delayed by a further month and he won’t be available until February.
The news will come as yet another blow to Arsene Wenger as the boss has had to deal with a number of injury problems once again this season with the likes of Jack Wilshere, Santi Cazorla, Mikel Arteta, Tomas Rosicky and Francis Coquelin joining Welbeck in nursing long-term injuries.
Welbeck made a bright start to his career at the Emirates following his move from Manchester United in the summer of 2014 but his progress has been severally hampered by this troublesome knee injury this season.
Hopefully Danny can get himself fit again soon as we have an excellent opportunity to really push for the title this season and I’m sure he’ll be desperate to be available for the first leg of our Champions League last 16 clash with Barcelona in mid-February.
