Chelsea duo Willian and Gary Cahill have been named in the Uefa.com Champions League Team of the Week despite their loss to Paris Saint-Germain this week.
The Blues slipped to a 2-1 defeat in Paris in the first leg of their last-16 tie on Tuesday night but they’ll be confident of turning things around in the second leg at Stamford Bridge.
On the whole, Chelsea were fortunate to come away still in the tie as PSG could have won by a greater margin so it comes as something of a surprise that they’ve had two players named in the Team of the Week.
With skipper John Terry joining Kurt Zouma on the sidelines, Gary Cahill started at the back and put in a solid shift alongside Branislav Ivanovic and the England international is named in the TOTW by UEFA.
Willian has been one of Chelsea’s most consistent performers all season and put in another impressive performance against PSG with the Brazilian supplying the assist for John Obi Mikel’s goal, and he joins Cahill in the TOTW.
