Some Liverpool players have been celebrating on Twitter after exacting revenge on Manchester City with a 3-0 win at Anfield on Wednesday night.
The Reds missed out on their chance to lift silverware for the first time since 2012 after City won the penalty shoot-out 3-1 following their 1-1 draw at Wembley last weekend.
However, Liverpool were clearly the better side last night as they raced in to a 2-0 lead at half-time thanks to goals from Adam Lallana and James Milner before Roberto Firmino wrapped-up the three points with a third after the break.
The win sees the Merseysiders climb to eighth in the Premier League table and to within six points of the top four so it’s easy to see why some of the players have been celebrating on Twitter.
Nathaniel Clyne, Dejan Lovren, Simon Mignolet and Divock Origi have all taken to the micro-blogging site to share messages and photos with their followers after easing past City last night.
