The opening of the summer transfer window is fast approaching so we’ll bring you all the latest transfer rumours and gossip from around the globe. Today, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain is set to leave Arsenal….
Arsene Wenger is ready to sell Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain this summer with Liverpool among the clubs keen on luring the midfielder away from the Emirates, according to the Express.
Oxlade-Chamberlain developed in to one of the most promising youngsters in British football after progressing through the youth ranks at Southampton and earned himself a big-money move to Arsenal in 2011.
After an encouraging start to life in North London, the 22-year-old’s career has stalled over the past couple of seasons with a number of serious injury problems hampering his progress.
Two knee ligament injuries kept him out for a large portion of this season with the latest ruling him out of Euro 2016 and Oxlade-Chamberlain was restricted to making just 9 Premier League starts throughout the entire campaign.
A poor return of just 2 goals and 2 assists in his 33 appearances in all competitions appears to have convinced Arsene Wenger it’s time to cash-in on the midfielder as the Express claim the Frenchman is now ready to sell The Ox this summer.
Despite his inconsistent form, there will be no shortage of interest and the newspaper says that Liverpool are among the clubs keen on luring Oxlade-Chamberlain away from North London.
Jurgen Klopp has been busy reshaping the squad he inherited from Brendan Rodgers when he took over in October with goalkeeper Loris Karius becoming the German coaches third signing of the summer following the arrivals of defender Joel Matip and midfielder Marko Grujic.
