32-Assist Attacker Favours £20m Arsenal Move Despite Chelsea & Spurs Interest
Borussia Dortmund attacker Henrikh Mkhitaryan is keen to make a £20m move to Arsenal despite Chelsea and Tottenham also showing a keen interest
The opening of the summer transfer window is fast approaching so we’ll bring you all the latest transfer rumours and gossip from around the globe. Today, Arsenal are leading the chase for Henrikh Mkhitaryan…..
Borussia Dortmund attacker Henrikh Mkhitaryan is keen to make a £20m move to Arsenal despite Chelsea and Tottenham also showing a keen interest in the Armenian international, according to the Sun.
Mkhitaryan has developed in to one of the best attacking midfielders in Europe since making the move to Dortmund from Shakhtar Donetsk in 2013 and has just come off the back of a sensational campaign that saw him score 23 goals and provide a staggering 32 assists.
However, the Armenian star’s future is in serious doubt as he has just one year remaining on his current contract and has reportedly rejected the German giants attempts to tie him down to a new deal with his agent confirming last week that the attacker was assessing his options.
Mkhitaryan’s impressive form has attracted interest from the Premier League with the Sun claiming that Arsenal, Chelsea and Tottenham Hotspur are all keen to lure him to England this summer.
Incoming Blues boss Antonio Conte is set for a busy summer rebuilding the Chelsea squad after a hugely disappointing campaign while Mauricio Pochettino is looking to strengthen his squad ahead of Tottenham’s assault on the Champions League next season and Mkhitaryan is seemingly on their radar.
However, it looks like the London duo could be set to miss out as the Sun claim that Arsenal are winning the race for his signature as Mkhitaryan is understood to favour a move to the Emirates this summer.
Arsene Wenger has already snapped up midfielder Granit Xhaka but is also believed to be on the look out for another attacker with Theo Walcott and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain tipped to leave the Gunners this summer, and Mkhitaryan would be a superb replacement.

We’ll have to wait and see how things develop over the coming weeks but unless he signs an extension soon, Dortmund could be forced to cash-in or risk losing the 27-year-old for nothing in 12 months time and the newspaper suggests he’d be available for £20m.
That sort of money would be an absolute steal for a player of Mkhitaryan’s quality in today’s market so it’s easy to see why the likes of Arsenal, Chelsea and Spurs are fighting over him, with the Gunners seemingly leading the race for his signature.
