Player Keen On Move As Arsenal & Man Utd Eye Swoop For Argentinean Striker
Premier League giants Arsenal and Manchester United are eyeing moves for Atletico Madrid striker Luciano Vietto, who is keen to secure a move this summer
The opening of the summer transfer window is fast approaching so we’ll bring you all the latest transfer rumours and gossip from around the globe. Today, Arsenal and Man Utd are linked with Luciano Vietto….
Premier League giants Arsenal and Manchester United are eyeing Atletico Madrid striker Luciano Vietto – who is keen to secure a move this summer, according to talkSPORT.
Vietto only joined Atletico in a £15m deal from Villarreal last summer but has struggled to establish himself at the Vicente Calderon and fell badly out-of–favour under boss Diego Simone last season.
The 22-year-old scored just 3 goals in his 12 La Liga starts for the 2016 Champions League finalists and talkSPORT claim the striker is now keen to secure a move this summer in order to try and resurrect his career.
And it looks like he could be handed a fresh start here in the Premier League as the report claims that Arsenal and Manchester United are among the clubs considering a move for the Argentinean youth international this summer.
Arsene Wenger is on the look out for another forward after losing Danny Welbeck to a serious knee injury and with the Gunners’ pursuit of Jamie Vardy stalling, Arsenal could decide to turn their attention to Vietto.
New United boss Jose Mourinho is expected to be busy in the transfer market as he looks to rebuild the squad he inherited from Louis van Gaal and the Portuguese coach could be eyeing Vietto as he tries to add more goals to the team after watching the Red Devils score just 49 league goals last season.
The fact the youngster has ‘flopped’ at Atletico will no doubt be a concern to Wenger and Mourinho but the South American looked to be a real talent when he scored 20 goals for Villarreal during the 2014/15 campaign, so they’ll be hoping he would rediscover that kind of form if he was to make the move to England.
We’ll have to wait and see whether Arsenal or United formalise their interest and if they do, the good news is that talkSPORT suggest Atletico should be willing to sell Vietto as long as they recoup the £15m they spent 12 months ago.

However, the outlet also says that the Premier league duo could face competition from the likes of Barcelona, Valencia and AC Milan for his signature while Vietto may choose to snub a move to England in favour of a return to Villarreal.
