Liverpool Willing To Pay £30m As Reds Hold Talks Over Deal For Man Utd Target
Liverpool are in negotiations with Southampton over a deal to sign Man Utd target Sadio Mane and are willing to pay £30m to sign the attacker this summer
The opening of the summer transfer window is fast approaching so we’ll bring you all the latest transfer rumours and gossip from around the globe. Today, Liverpool close in on a deal for Sadio Mane….
Liverpool are in negotiations with Southampton over a deal to sign Manchester United target Sadio Mane and are willing to pay £30m to sign the attacker this summer, according to the BBC.
Mane has just come off the back of an excellent season on the South Coast with his 15 goals and 9 assists helping the Saints secure a sixth-placed finish in the Premier League last season just two years after joining the club from Red Bull Salzburg.
The 24-year-old’s impressive form has caught the attention of some of England’s top clubs with the BBC claiming that Liverpool have joined long-term admirers Manchester United in showing a keen interest in signing the attacker.
New United boss Jose Mourinho is expected to be busy this summer as he looks to rebuild the squad left behind by Louis van Gaal and the Red Devils could certainly do with a creative threat like Mane in attack as they only managed to score 49 league goals last season.
However, it looks as though Liverpool are now set to beat their north west rivals to Mane’s signature as the BBC claim that the Merseysiders are in talks with Southampton over a potential deal.
The news outlet suggests that Jurgen Klopp has made the Senegalese international his prime target and Liverpool are now ready to pay £30m to take the player to Anfield – which falls £10m short of Southampton’s valuation.
We’ll have to wait and see whether the two clubs are able to agree a deal and negotiations could be delayed due to the fact the Saints don’t have a manager but Mane would be an exciting signing for Liverpool if they could pull it off.
The youngster is capable of playing anywhere across the attacking positions so he’d give Klopp plenty of options in the final third and Liverpool could recoup much of the transfer fee with the sale of Christian Benteke – who’s expected to be sold after falling out-of-favour under Klopp.

Should Mane complete a move to Anfield this summer, he’ll become the latest Southampton player to join Liverpool, following the likes of Adam Lallana, Dejan Lovren, Rickie Lambert and Nathaniel Clyne in recent years.
