Manchester United have told Juventus they are willing to pay £100m to sign Paul Pogba and will tempt the midfielder with a contract worth £250,000-a-week
The opening of the summer transfer window is now open so we’ll bring you all the latest transfer rumours and gossip from around the globe. Today, Man Utd are linked with Paul Pogba…
Manchester United have told Juventus they are willing to pay £100m to sign Paul Pogba this summer and will tempt the midfielder with a lucrative contract worth £250,000-a-week, according Daily Mail.
Jose Mourinho has already been splashing the cash as he looks to rebuild the squad left to him by Louis van Gaal with defender Eric Bailly and striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic already wrapped-up while Borussia Dortmund confirmed yesterday that they’ve agreed to sell attacker Henrikh Mkhitaryan to United.
A new central midfielder looks to be next on Mourinho’s agenda and Pogba has been strongly linked with a move back to Old Trafford this summer four years after leaving the club on a free transfer after failing to make the breakthrough under Sir Alex Ferguson.
It looks like United are now ready to break the bank to re-sign the French international as the Daily Mail claim that the Red Devils have told Juventus they are willing to smash the world record and pay £100m to land Pogba this summer.
It means United are ready to flex their financial muscle to try and sign one of the games biggest super-stars as such a figure has already scared off the likes of Real Madrid, Manchester City and Paris Saint-Germain from pursuing the Frenchman.
The newspaper also suggests that if United could get a deal agreed with the Serie A champions they would then offer the 23-year-old midfielder a lucrative contract worth £250,000-a-week to make the switch to Old Trafford.
Pogba’s agent, Mino Raiola – who also represents Ibrahimovic and Mkhitaryan – will be the man to negotiate the deal and he’s hinted the midfielder needs to leave Juventus in order to ‘grow’ but insists all negotiations must go through the Italian giants.
‘Paul has to grow. He’s at Juve now, so any transfer must be run past Juventus,’ Raiola is quoted as saying by the Daily Mail.
We’ll have to wait and see how things develop over the coming weeks but it’s safe to say that Pogba would be a sensational signing for United if they were able to pull it off as he’s developed in to one of the best all-round midfielders in the world since moving to Juve in 2012.

However, any potential transfer away from Italy will have to wait as Pogba is currently over in France helping his country at Euro 2016 where they are gearing up to play Iceland in the quarter finals this evening.
