Agent: Arsenal & Tottenham Have Made Offers For South American Striker
The agent of Mauro Icardi has confirmed that Arsenal and Tottenham are among a whole host of top clubs who’ve put forward offers for the Inter Milan striker
The summer transfer window is now open for business so we’ll bring you all the latest transfer rumours and gossip from around the globe. Today, Arsenal and Tottenham are linked with Mauro Icardi….
The agent of Mauro Icardi has confirmed that Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur are among a whole host of top clubs who’ve put forward offers for the Inter Milan striker this summer, according to the Evening Standard.
Icardi joined Inter from Sampdoria in 2013 and has scored 52 goals in his 105 appearances for the Italian giants so far but his future at the San Siro has been brought in to question in recent weeks.
The Argentinean international’s agent, and wife, Wanda Nara claimed recently that Inter are looking to offload the striker which forced the Italian outfit to issue a public denial, insisting their captain was going nowhere just a year after signing a new deal.
However, Nara has once again gone to the press to fuel the speculation even further after claiming that while Icardi is happy to stay at Inter, the club are supposedly holding talks with other clubs about a potential deal with the agent naming Arsenal and Spurs among the clubs who’ve put forward offers.
The outspoken wife also went on to claim that Inter have yet to stick to their promise of handing Icardi an improved contract after they accepted a pay cut last summer.
Nara is quoted as saying by the Evening Standard:
“There are many offers, but I do not negotiate with other clubs. I only talk about Mauro’s contract, that’s my role, not doing negotiations. Atletico Madrid, Tottenham and Arsenal have made contact. Napoli and Roma are also interested now.”
“I’ve asked for a renewal because the club had promised me a renewal. Last year we accepted their conditions, which mean a lower salary, the sale of the 50% of Mauro’s economic rights and there is no release clause on his contract. They have to keep their promises.”
“We want to stay in Milan. People say I am a mercenary, but I am not. [Inter] have to say the truth. They can’t say Icardi is not for sale and then talk to other clubs.”
Arsene Wenger is certainly in the market for another striker after missing out on Jamie Vardy and Icardi is one of several top class hitmen the Gunners have been linked to in recent weeks.

We’ll have to see if anything comes of their interest but I’d be surprised if Tottenham were to push too hard for Icardi’s signature after splashing out around £18m to sign Vincetn Janssen from AZ Alklmaar recently.
