The transfer window is now drawing to a close so we’ll bring you all the latest transfer rumours and gossip from around the globe. Today, two players are undergoing medicals with Arsenal today…
Shkodran Mustafi and Lucas Perez are in London today to undergo their medicals with Arsenal ahead of moves totalling over £50m, according to BBC journalist David Ornstein.
After a hectic 24 hours, the Telegraph reported last night that we’d agreed to meet a £17m buyout clause in Lucas’s Deportivo La Coruna contract while we’d also finally struck a deal worth £35m with Valencia to sign Mustafi.
Arsene Wenger has been desperately trying to sign another striker this summer after missing out on Jamie Vardy and we made our move for Lucas after struggling to land any of Wenger’s prime targets.
A centre-back also became a priority after Gabriel joined Per Mertesacker on the sidelines with an ankle injury and Mustafi emerged as Arsenal’s top target with the club locked in negotiations with Valencia for weeks.
We finally got a deal agreed for the German international yesterday and BBC journalist David Ornstein has taken to Twitter to say that Mustafi will undergo his medical in London today before signing a five-year contract.
Ornstein also says that Lucas Perez will have his medical today meaning it’s going to be a busy afternoon for Arsenal’s medical team at London Colney.
Arsenal agree £35m deal with Valencia for Mustafi. Will fly to London for medical, seal terms on 5yr contract. Perez medical also today #AFC

So it looks as though Wenger is set to splash out £52m on two new big-money signings and Mustafi and Lucas will fill two holes in the squad that we desperately needed to address before the window shut.
Mustafi is a 24-year-old defender who’s established at international level and will be a long-term replacement for Per Mertesacker so he should turn out to be an excellent addition to the squad.

Lucas isn’t the big-name striker that fans have been crying out for but he’s just come off his best ever season having scored 19 goals and provided 11 assists for a struggling Deportivo side so he’ll certainly bring an added threat to our strike-force.
