Agent Claims Club Are Set To Sell Croatian Star To Arsenal Or Chelsea
The agent of a Croatian midfielder has claimed that Inter Milan are ready to sell the player to Arsenal or Chelsea after they put forward sufficient offers
The transfer window is now drawing to a close so we’ll bring you all the latest transfer rumours and gossip from around the globe. Today, Arsenal and Chelsea are linked with Marcelo Brozovic….
The agent of Marcelo Brozovic claims that Inter Milan are ready to do business with either Arsenal or Chelsea for the sale of the Croatian midfielder before the end of the month, according to the Mirror.
Brozovic made his name at Dinamo Zagreb before joining Inter on an initial loan deal that was made permanent during the January transfer window at the start of this year.
The 23-year-old scored 7 goals and provided a further 8 assists in his 35 appearances last season to help Inter secure a top four finish in the Serie A table but it looks like his future at the San Siro is now in some doubt.
The Mirror claim that Inter need to balance the books after splashing out almost £60m on the signings of Brazilian striker Gabriel Barbosa and Portuguese midfielder Joao Mario and it looks like Brozovic is going to be sacrificed.
The Croatian international could be heading to the Premier League as the midfielder’s agent, Miroslav Bicanic, has been quoted as saying that both Arsenal and Chelsea are among the clubs showing a keen interest.
Bicanic claims that Chelsea officials are in Milan trying to thrash out a deal while Arsenal are also hoping to sign him with the agent suggesting that Inter are ready to do business with the London duo as they are prepared to ‘pay a sum that satisfies all concerned’.
Bicanic is quoted as saying by the Mirror:
“It’s true, there are many options and we are talking about some big European clubs,”
“I heard that Chelsea representatives are in Milan and that Arsenal are also prepared to sign him. Inter are pushing to sell to one of these two clubs who are prepared to pay a sum that satisfies all concerned.”
It’s difficult to know how much to read in to Bicanic’s comments as he could just be using Arsenal and Chelsea’s name to drum up interest in his client as Brozovic could be looking for a move following the signing of Mario.
However, I’d personally be extremely surprised if Arsenal were looking to spend any serious money on another midfielder as Arsene Wenger has already splashed out on Granit Xhaka and has an abundance of midfield talent available to him.
Chelsea’s supposed interest is intriguing though as Antonio Conte is actively looking to strengthen his squad and although defence is understood to be the Italian’s priority, he could be in the market for another midfielder.

Conte has been playing a system that requires three central midfielders so he’s going to need plenty of options in that department over the course of the season and he’ll know Brozovic well from his time in Italy.
