Olivier Giroud was the hero for a below-par Arsenal side as he came off the bench to score a late header to rescue a 1-1 draw against Manchester United at Old Trafford on Saturday afternoon.
Here are Gooner Mac’s player ratings for Arsene Wenger’s men:
Cech 8/10 | Great save to deny Mata and Martial and keep it at 0-0 in the first half but could do nothing about their goal.
Jenkinson 7/10 | Stood firm as United tried to target him early on and rarely put a foot wrong.
Mustafi 7/10 | Continued his fine partnership alongside Koscielny with another solid display.
Koscielny 7/10 | Made a few important tackles and kept Rashford relatively quiet.
Monreal 6.5/10 | Failed to track Herrera for their goal but was otherwise solid enough. Offered little going forward.
Coquelin 6.5/10 | Effective in patches but struggled to take control of the game.
Elneny 5/10 | Not an effective partner for Coquelin as neither player offer enough in terms of incisive passing.

Ramsey 5/10 | Very wasteful at times and didn’t look comfortable on either wing. Far happier when he moved in the middle but very poor overall.
Ozil 6/10 | Disappointing performance from the German. Just couldn’t get in the game enough.
Walcott 6.5/10 | Keen to get involved going forward and test United with his pace but wasn’t utilised enough. At fault for their goal as he failed to track Mata’s run.
Sanchez 6.5/10 | Worked hard to get himself in the game but was forced to drop far too deep at times.
Subs:
Giroud 7.5/10 | Rescued a point with a superb header.
Xhaka 6.5/10 | Should have started ahead of Elneny.
Oxlade-Chamberlain 7.5/10 | Surprise choice to come on at right-back but produced a superb cross to set-up Giroud for the goal.
