Manchester United have been handed a boost with a key man offering a positive injury update on Instagram while the club expect him back in action soon
Eric Bailly has eased fears over his latest knee injury after posting an update on his Instagram account while Manchester United are hoping he’ll be back in action next week.
The Ivory Coast international has only recently returned to full fitness after being sidelined for two months with a problem to his right knee which he picked up against Chelsea back in October.
Bailly was restored to the starting eleven for United’s clash with Crystal Palace on Wednesday night with the youngster deputising for the suspended Antonio Valencia at right-back.
The 22-year-old picked up an injury to his left knee during the early stages of the game and while he was able to continue until shortly after half time, Bailly was eventually forced off and replaced by Matteo Darmian.
Given his recent knee woes, understandably fans were sweating over the severity of the latest injury but Bailly has taken to his Instagram account to confirm that the problem isn’t a serious one and he hopes to be back in action soon.

The Mirror are also reporting that after making initial assessments, United are confident the injury isn’t serious and hope that Bailly will not be facing another extended lay off.
The centre-back will miss tomorrow’s trip to West Brom but he could be back in contention for the visit of Sunderland to Old Trafford on Boxing Day if he makes a swift recovery over the next week.
Even if Bailly does miss the game against the Black Cats, he should be available when United entertain Middlesbrough on New Years Eve or for the trip to West Ham three days later.
The news will come as a huge boost as Bailly has proven to be an excellent signing since joining United from Villarreal in the summer with his dominant displays at the back making him a real fan favourite.
However, Bailly’s return will be short-lived as he’s due to link-up with the Ivory Coast squad at the start of January ahead of the African Cup of Nations in Gabon. Thankfully for the Red Devils, Phil Jones and Marcos Rojo has been excellent at the back in recent weeks while Chris Smalling is also close to returning from a toe injury.
