Liverpool vs Arsenal Preview, Team News, Line-Ups, Betting Tips & Predicted Score
Liverpool take on Arsenal at Anfield on Saturday evening. Here is a preview with team news, line-ups, betting tips and predicted score.
The race for the top four hots-up when Liverpool entertain Arsenal at Anfield on Saturday evening.
The Gunners head in to the weekend’s action holding on to that all-important fourth place but Liverpool sit just one point adrift in fifth so it couldn’t be much tighter.
With just five points separating second from sixth, Manchester United have the chance to leapfrog both Liverpool and Arsenal if they beat Bournemouth in the early kick, so both sides know they can’t afford to slip-up.
Jurgen Klopp will be looking for a response from his players as their 2017 form continued to nose-dive with a 3-1 defeat at Leicester City on Monday night which made it just one win from their last seven league games.
Arsenal will be well rested having not played since beating Sutton United in the FA Cup on February 20th and they should be confident of taking home a positive result having lost just one of their last nine visits to Anfield.
Team news
Liverpool will hand a late fitness test to defender Dejan Lovren but he’s expected to be passed fit after returning to full training following a month out with a knee injury.
Daniel Sturridge has been ruled out for another week after picking up a hip injury in training after recovering from a virus that kept him out of the Leicester game.
Jordan Henderson is also still sidelined with a foot injury that he picked up in training last month so Emre Can will continue in midfield.
Arsenal have been boosted by the return of Laurent Koscielny after he made a swift recovery from a hamstring injury that he sustained against Bayern Munich.
Mesut Ozil will require a late fitness test after missing training this week due to a virus but Aaron Ramsey is back in contention after overcoming a calf injury that’s kept him out for a month.
Danny Welbeck is also in contention to feature at Anfield after not being risked on Sutton’s 3G pitch last time out while Olivier Giroud returns to the squad.
However, Mohamed Elneny has been ruled out for three weeks with an ankle injury so he joins Santi Cazorla on the sidelines.
Likely Line-Ups
Predicted Score
Liverpool 2-2 Arsenal: Liverpool were extremely poor at Leicester and I’m expecting a response tomorrow. These games usually produce goals with an average of over FIVE per game for the last three encounters at Anfield. I don’t think tomorrow will be an exception but I fancy the spoils to be shared in an entertaining 2-2 draw.
