Arsenal & Man Utd Plotting Moves For £35m La Liga Winger
Arsenal and Manchester United are both eyeing Villarreal’s £35m-rated winger Samuel Castillejo ahead of potential swoops this summer
Managers are now making plans for the summer transfer window so we’ll bring you all the latest news and gossip from around the globe. Today, Arsenal and Man Utd are linked with Samuel Castillejo…
Arsenal and Manchester United are both eyeing moves for Villarreal’s £35m-rated winger Samuel Castillejo this summer, according to the Daily Star.
Castillejo came through the youth ranks at Malaga before earning a move to Villarreal in 2015 where he’s developed in to one of the most exciting young wingers in Spanish football.
The 22-year-old is now a first team regular at the Yellow Submarine, scoring three goals and providing five assists in his 24 starts in all competitions so far this campaign.
It looks as though Castillejo’s potential has now caught the attention of Premier League heavy-weights as the Daily Star are carrying a report claiming that Arsenal and Man Utd are eyeing swoops for the attacker this summer.
Arsene Wenger is being tipped to stay at Arsenal and rebuild his squad following a difficult campaign and it looks as though the Frenchman is now eyeing Castillejo as a potential new recruit to freshen up his options in attack.
Jose Mourinho is also expected to be busy in the transfer market this summer as he looks to turn United in to genuine title challengers and the Portuguese coach is also seemingly tracking the Spanish u21 international.
However, Arsenal and United may face more competition as the Daily Star claim that Manchester City and Napoli are also showing a keen interest in the exciting wide man.
Not only that, but the newspaper says Villarreal will demand a whopping £35m for Castillejo’s signature and I personally don’t think either Arsenal or United would be willing to pay that kind of money for a youngster who’s only had one decent season in a top European league.

Therefore, unless the La Liga outfit lower their asking price, I don’t think we’ll be seeing Castillejo arriving in the Premier League any time soon.
