According to the Mirror, highly-rated Pachuca hitman Hirving Lozano has confirmed he wants to join Manchester United this summer.
Managers are now making plans for the summer transfer window so we’ll bring you all the latest news and gossip from around the globe. Today, Hirving Lozano wants to join Man Utd ….
According to the Mirror, highly-rated Pachuca hitman Hirving Lozano has confirmed he wants to join Manchester United this summer.
United boss Jose Mourinho resisted the temptation to dip in to the January transfer market and has saved himself for a busy summer with a new striker likely to be on the Portuguese coaches agenda.
Wayne Rooney is almost certain to end his long association with United after falling out-of-favour while Zlatan Ibrahimovic is yet to commit himself to a new contract meaning Mourinho is expected to bring in at least one top class forward this summer.
Several established names have been linked with a move to Old Trafford but Hirving Lozano appears to have thrown his name in to the equation after issuing a come-and-get-me plea to Mourinho.
The 21-year-old has been catching the attention of several European clubs having scored 18 times as well as supplying 6 assists in 27 appearances for Pachuca in the Mexican top flight this season.
Spanish outfit Celta Vigo recently confirmed their interest in signing the young striker but it seems Lozano has his eyes on a move to England after revealing the one team he dreams of joining is Man Utd.
He’s quoted as saying by the Mirror:
“I believe many [leagues] are beautiful, I like the English and the Spanish very much.
“But let’s see how things are and decide. The one I would like most is Manchester [United]. I like this club a lot and it’s a very important club.”
We’ll have to wait and see whether Mourinho decides to show any interest in helping Lozano fulfill his dream by taking him to Manchester this summer but I think the United boss will have slightly more ambitious targets in mind.
Mourinho has been strongly linked with a number of high profile strikers so I’d personally be surprised if the ‘Special One’ was to turn his attention to the Mexican youngster.

Lozano has already made 13 appearances for Mexico and is set to play at this summer’s Confederations Cup so I’m sure he’ll have plenty of offers from Europe if he does well, even if United aren’t one of those pursuing his signature.
