Managers are now making plans for the summer transfer window so we’ll bring you all the latest news and gossip from around the globe. Today, Man Utd are linked with Ousmane Dembele…
Manchester United are ready to make their move for Borussia Dortmund attacker Ousmane Dembele but may have to pay upwards of £50m to land the French youngster, according to The Sun.
Dembele made his name at Rennes during a superb 2015/16 campaign having progressed through their youth ranks and sealed a move to Dortmund last summer.
The French international reportedly rejected several Premier League clubs in order to move to Germany as he felt he had a better chance of playing regular first team football at the Westfalonstadion.
That belief was well placed as Dembele has been a key player for Dortmund this season and has racked up 8 goals and 17 assists in his 44 appearances to help them reach the quarter finals of the Champions League.
It seems Dembele’s form has persuaded Jose Mourinho to try and sign him this summer as The Sun claims that United will test Dortmund’s resolve with a formal move at the end of the season.
Given his importance to the team, Dortmund will be desperate to keep hold of the Dembele and the newspaper says it will take a bid of around £50m to persuade the Bundesliga giants to cash-in on the 19-year-old.
United have the financial firepower to match that asking price and it would be something of a coup if the Red Devils could lure Dembele to Old Trafford, but we’ll have to wait and see whether the player would be tempted.
He’s settled in Germany and is playing in the Champions League with a top side in Dortmund so he may be reluctant to jump ship so soon after joining the club, especially if United can’t offer Champions League football.

However, Dembele would be a superb signing if United could pull it off and as he’s capable of playing anywhere across the attacking positions, he’d give Mourinho plenty of options in the final third.
