Arsenal will look for a win to keep alive our slim hopes of finishing in the top four when we take on Sunderland at the Emirates on Tuesday evening.

We put the pressure on Liverpool with an impressive 4-1 win at Stoke City on Saturday evening but unfortunately the Merseysiders eased to a 4-0 win at West Ham the following day to tighten their grip on the top four.

A win this evening would move us back to within just one point of Jurgen Klopp’s men but we need Middlesbrough to get something at Anfield on the final day of the season to stand any chance of snatching fourth place.

Arsene Wenger has urged the players to keep fighting and all we can do is win our final two games and see what happens, but at least we’ve got an FA Cup final to look forward to if we do miss out on Champions League qualification.

Sunderland arrive in the capital having already been relegated to the Championship and they were woeful during the 2-0 defeat to Swansea at the weekend so David Moyes will be expecting better this evening.

Team News

Alexis Sanchez looks to be winning his fitness fight after training on Monday having picked up a thigh problem against Stoke at the weekend.

However, Laurent Koscielny wasn’t able to train with the rest of the first team yesterday and could miss out tonight after aggravating a calf/Achilles injury at the Bet365 stadium.

Kieran Gibbs is available again after sitting out the Stoke game with his own calf issue but Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain remains out with a hamstring problem.

Aaron Ramsey and Danny Welbeck are pushing for recalls while Gabriel could come back in to the defence if Koscielny misses out.

As for Sunderland, they’ll hand late fitness tests to Jason Denayer and Victor Anichebe while George Honeyman is a doubt with a back injury.

The Black Cats have nothing to play for and the players were certainly on the beach against Swansea so this should be a routine win tonight.
