Everton are ready to sell contract rebel Ross Barkley but are demanding £50m for the Manchester United and Tottenham Hotspur target, according to the Mirror.
Barkley has been at Everton his entire career after coming through their youth ranks and emerged as one of the hottest properties in British football when he broke in to the first team set-up in 2012.
The midfielder struggled to find consistency last season but regained something like his best form under Ronald Koeman this campaign to help the Toffees secure a seventh-placed finish in the Premier League.
However, the 23-year-old’s future at Goodison Park has been in serious doubt in recent months as he’s about to enter the final year of his contract and he’s rejected an offer to become the highest paid player in the clubs history.
Everton have been desperate to tie Barkley down to a new deal but Koeman made it clear earlier this month that they were prepared to cash-in this summer if he doesn’t commit to the club soon.
The Mirror claim that Everton have now accepted the midfielder isn’t going to sign a new deal so they are prepared to do business but only if their £50m asking price is met.
The newspaper says that Man Utd and Tottenham have expressed their interest in signing Barkley this summer but it remains to be seen whether the Champions League duo will be prepared to meet the Merseysiders demands.
Jose Mourinho is gearing-up for a busy summer as he looks to build a squad capable of competing for major honours next season and Barkley’s versatility would make him a useful addition to the United team.
Spurs are also expected to be active in the market this summer as they prepare to return to Europe’s elite competition and Barkley would compliment Mauricio Pochettino’s young squad that’s already filled with English talent.

We’ll have to wait and see whether Spurs or United will pay the reported £50m it will take to force Everton in to a sale but I think Barkley would be an excellent signing for either club as he has the potential to be a top, top player.
