Managers are now pressing ahead with their plans for the summer transfer window so we’ll bring you all the latest news and gossip from around the globe. Today, Man Utd have agreed a fee to sign Ivan Perisic…
Ivan Perisic has agreed terms over a contract worth £85,000-a-week with Manchester United after a £45m deal was sealed with Inter Milan, according to reports in Italy via the Express.
Jose Mourinho is gearing up for a busy summer in the transfer window as he looks to turn United in to genuine title challengers again next season and strengthening his attack is a top priority.
Perisic has emerged as a prime target with Sky Sports News reporting last week that United had formalised their interest with a £36m bid which was immediately knocked back by Inter.
However, it appears United have now gone back in with a new offer as the Express are citing a report from CalcioMercato that claims the Red Devils have had an improved £45m bid accepted.
The Italian outlet goes on to state that Perisic has also agreed personal terms over a contract worth £85,000-a-week – double his current salary – and the deal is expected to be officially announced next week.
It remains to be seen how much truth there is behind these reports as there is always plenty of idle gossip flying around at this time of year but the speculation linking Perisic with United is intensifying.
The 28-year-old would be an excellent signing for United as he’d add some much-needed creativity in the final third having scored 11 goals and provided a further 10 assists last season.
While the Croatian international can play anywhere across the attack, he’s predominantly a left-winger so his signing would cast further doubt over the future of Anthony Martial – who’s been linked with a move away from Old Trafford in recent weeks after failing to establish himself under Mourinho.

We’ll have to wait and see how things develop but while I do think Perisic would be a fine addition to United’s squad, I would question the move if it meant Martial leaving as I think the Frenchman has a huge future ahead of him if nurtured properly.
