Player Wants Deal Done Quickly As Arsenal Close-In On £45m Signing
Thomas Lemar is hoping his move to Arsenal is wrapped-up quickly as we close-in on a £45m to sign the Monaco attacker this summer
Managers are now pressing ahead with their plans for the summer transfer window so we’ll bring you all the latest news and gossip from around the globe. Today, Arsenal close-in on Thomas Lemar…
Thomas Lemar is hoping his move to Arsenal is wrapped-up quickly as we close-in on a £45m to sign the Monaco attacker this summer, according to a report in the Express.
Arsene Wenger is looking to further strengthen his attacking options after only bringing in left-back Sead Kolasinac and striker Alexandre Lacazette this summer and Lemar has been identified as a prime target.
The French international caught the eye after enjoying a sensational campaign last year that saw him score 14 goals and provide 17 assists to help Monaco clinch the Ligue 1 title.
Unfortunately, the French outfit have proven extremely difficult to deal with as they are desperately trying to keep the remains of their title-winning squad together after seeing the likes of Bernado Silva, Tiemoue Bakayoko and Benjamin Mendy all leave.
Despite seeing two previous bids rejected, Wenger has refused to give up on signing the 21-year-old and the Express are citing a report from The Sun that claims a breakthrough has now been reached.
The newspaper says that following further discussions between the two clubs, Arsenal are now close to securing a £45m agreement with Monaco to bring Lemar to the Emirates.
The Sun also claim that personal terms with the player have already been agreed and Lemar is keen to have the deal announced before Monaco face Paris-Saint Germain in Morocco on Saturday in the Trophee des champions.
At the time of writing, nothing official has come out from either club regarding this supposed agreement and we’re still seeing conflicting reports suggesting Monaco are refusing to sell so we’ll have to wait for something more concrete to come out before getting too excited.
However, if we do end up signing Lemar this summer then I think he’ll turn out to be an excellent addition to the squad as he’s one of the best young attackers in Europe.

He’s predominantly played out on the wing but he’s also capable of playing in a central midfield role so he’d give Wenger plenty of options in the final third next season and I’d to see him become our third signing of the summer.
