Managers are now pressing ahead with their plans for the summer transfer window so we’ll bring you all the latest news and gossip from around the globe. Today, Arsenal are linked with Ousmane Dembele…
Borussia Dortmund are only willing to sell Ousmane Dembele this summer if their £90m asking price is met after rejecting Arsenal’s opening bid for the attacker, according to a report in the Metro.
Dembele has developed in to one of the hottest properties in European football since progressing through the youth ranks at Rennes and continued to impress after joining Dortmund last summer.
The French international chipped in with 10 goals and an incredible 21 assists in his 49 appearances last season so it’s no wonder he’s caught the eye of several top clubs during this transfer window.
The Metro are citing a report from Mundo Deportivo that claims Arsenal saw an unspecified opening bid rejected by Dortmund after Arsene Wenger identified Dembele as a potential target.
Wenger has confirmed he’s in the market for further reinforcements after only signing two new players this summer and a new attacker appears to be on the bosses agenda amid on-going doubts over the long-term future of Alexis Sanchez and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain.
We’ve been strongly linked with Thomas Lemar in recent weeks but Monaco are proving difficult to deal with as they look to keep the remains of their title-winning squad together so perhaps Wenger has turned to Dembele as an alternative.
However, it’s not going to be easy landing the 20-year-old as it looks like he’ll come with a hefty price-tag and we’ll have to fight off competition from arguably the two biggest clubs in the world.
The Metro cite Bild as saying that Real Madrid are eyeing Dembele as an alternative to Kylian Mbappe while Barcelona are also showing a keen interest in signing the attacker after losing Neymar to PSG.

We’ll also need to smash our transfer record to sign Dembele as the newspaper claims Dortmund are only ready to do business this summer if their £90m valuation is met.
We’ll have to wait and see how things develop but I personally don’t think Wenger will be prepared to pay that kind of money for Dembele so he’ll probably baulk at that valuation and go back in for Lemar.
