Man Utd & Chelsea Stars Miss Out As Tottenham Ace Scoops Player of the Month Award
Tottenham hitman Harry Kane has beaten off competition from Chelsea and Man Utd players to be named as the Premier League Player of the Month for September.
Tottenham Hotspur hitman Harry Kane has been named as the Premier League Player of the Month for September.
Kane was nominated for the accolade along with the likes of Manchester United striker Romelu Lukaku and Chelsea’s big-money summer signing Alvaro Morata.
Lukaku continued his fine start to life at Old Trafford after scoring in all four of his Premier League appearances last month having netted against Stoke City, Everton, Southampton and Crystal Palace.
Morata also found the net four times in September with the Spanish international scoring against Leicester before hitting a superb hat-trick during Chelsea’s 4-0 win at Stoke.
However, they were no match for Kane as the Spurs super-star scored six goals in his four Premier League appearances last month to take his tally to 11 in just 9 games in all competitions.
The 24-year-old scored a brace against Everton and while he drew a blank against Swansea, Kane went on to score two in each of the games against West Ham and Huddersfield.
Understandably, the Tottenham striker has now been confirmed as the EA Sports Player of the Month for September taking his personal tally to five awards.
That moves him level with Wayne Rooney and Robin van Persie while only Steven Gerrard has won the POTM on more occasions [6].
