[VIDEO] Fabregas Has Dig At Team-Mate Denilson

denilson penalty vs leeds

Following Arsenal’s draw with Leeds in the FA Cup on Saturday, captain Cesc Fabregas was publicly critical of the way team mate Denilson gave away a penalty gifting the away side the lead in the game. Fabregas was saying what all Arsenal fans were also feeling, that Denilson’s ‘tackle’ was reckless and stupid and not what you expect from a professional footballer. He got turned inside out by an average Championship player and for me, he once again showed he’s not up to it.

In his interview after the game, Fabregas said “they scored from a penalty that, at this stage when you are a professional footballer you can not give away this type of penalty so easily”. Well said my son and i hope you said this to Denilson himself. Here is the video of the whole interview:

I know that even the best player can make a silly decision and give away dangerous free-kicks and penalties, but Denilson does this type of thing in the middle of the park all the time. I’m just glad we managed to rectify his sloppiness and keep ourselves in the cup, if we beat Leeds in the reply we are the only favourite to have a home tie in the 4th round so we’re in with a great chance of progressing to the next stage of the competition. Lets just hope Denilson isn’t around to gift the away side another easy lead in that game!

What about Fabs stupid handball when standing in the wall for a free kick last season??? was that not completely unprofessional? i’m sure it was a huge game as well, just can’t remember which one! it was at home though and it pissed me off.

So basically shut it fab, not cool to diss your own players on public televison, that stuff belongs inside the club.

Yeah, lets compare Fabregas, one of the best midfielders in the world, with Denilson, a midfielder who has gone backwards over the last 2 years.

Sure Fabs handball against the Spuds wasn’t his finest moment but those decisions are 50-50, as we found the other week against Wigan. What Denilson did, and does every single game, is just show his lack of quality.

How can you not remember it???

It was Spurs and it was this season. When that penalty allowed them back into the game.

Denilson lacks hunger and desire, slow and sloppy, completely useless. Worst players in Arsene’s ERA.

“Worst players in Arsene’s ERA??” this shows you know nothing about soccer.

he did it against liverpool as well LAST SEASON so forgive me for being confused, however he got away with that one BUT the point is he’s even more forgetful than i am obviously! sounds like inflated ego to me, him and andrei can leave whenever they are ready….

Time?! Sorry mate, hasn’t progressed since he arrived at the club…played more games than any other squad member last year….times up Denilson!!!

    Samgunz,
Well said mate. Fab jolted us all a couple of weeks ago at the Emirates when we lost 2-3 to the Spuds!

Denilson was surely crap but that silly handball was not exactly what you would expect from a professional footballer like Cesc too.

    • Fab4

      January 10, 2011 at 7:48 pm

Sure, but Cesc has won us more games than i can remember…sometimes on his own like the villa game last year. How many games has Denilson won us over the years???

give the lad time.. he is only 20+ and came back from injury.. just because of one mistake and everyone is criticizing him. And i don’t see the wisdom of the captain to say something like that! and i agree with everyone, how about the handball against spurs that fab caused?? Dan is a very good player, and Fab4, look at the things he had done well instead of looking at areas a player had done badly.

      January 10, 2011 at 7:50 pm

Yeah, ok lets just sit there and say ‘wow did you see that 5 yard pass Denilson made in the first half…what a players!’.

Players improve through constructive criticism, this is what Cesc was doing. Granted as a team mate he probably shouldn’t have said it to the press.

lol, so I can clearly see that you are sports “writer” and not a sports player at all. picking up bits and pieces just to show your point…
Dan isn’t a fantastic passer like Cesc nor a strong DM like Song, but he is good at all areas that make him decent esp for a bench player. And if he is worth 10 million clearly shows what manger sees and that sports critics will only do the talk!
‘players improve through constructive criticism’.. and how constructive can it be to publicly embarrass your team mate? especially what do a 23 year old knows about motivation? Leave training and improvement to the manger who obviously know what to do~

It’s good that Cesc said it. The millions of Arsenal fans has complained about the shit named Denilson but Arsene won’t listen. Now, hopefully, he will.

All of you criticizing Fabregas get the f*** out of here. He is the captain to speak for the team and on many issues. I was also kind of upset when I read the storey about Denilson in the press but after seeing the video there is nothing in it. It was another way to say you don’t make this kind of mistake when the game is 0:0. It is all about choice of words for Fab. As a captain you have to give interview in calm and heat situations and that exactly what the boy did. Look, I am not sure whether Fab. was angry but I will be upset too if Arsenal 2nd team cannot beat Champ team team or loosing 1 nil at home. F*** off Fab haters.

He’s making progress as a captain, I’d like to see him more vocal on the pitch although attitude wise and presence he’s a leader already.

I think Fabregas was right for saying that. This isnt the first time Denilson has dont this, I dont know why people always say that he is “developing”, they guy has been at Arsenal for a long time! How long will he be “developing” for?

If u look at the way Cristiano Ronaldo defends and the way Denilson defends, they r exactly the same in that aspect of their game, they just let people skip past them, but the difference is that one is one of the best midfielders in the world going forward, the other is like a referee in an Arsenal jersey. Denilson is shit. That is all

      January 10, 2011 at 7:52 pm

Thank god someone has some sense here. Does anyone remember when Denilson let an over-weight referee run past him as Rooney tore us apart in the Champs League 2 years ago? Denilson just jogged along showing no desire to track Rooney and the ref breezed past him and watched on as Rooney shot home un-challenged.

Great stuff from our defensive ‘shield’ eh!

Denilson was always the best holding midfielder alongside Song when Flamini left, he was the best midfielder last season and played almost all games. He is just recovering from injury. He fought for that game with two amazing strikes. Who in arsenal normally shoots from far? You should be critizin Arshavin who was the sloppiest in that game. Fabregas should discuss with denilson in a polite manner rather than in public, who critised him when we lost to Spurs because of his unprofessional handball? big up Denilson, do u know why barca are interested with him?
