Arsenal Handed Major Injury Boost As Key Man Returns To Training Ahead Of Man City
Arsenal have been handed a major injury boost with Sead Kolasinac able to return to training ahead of Sunday’s trip to Manchester City.
Arsenal have been handed a major injury boost with Sead Kolasinac able to return to training ahead of Sunday’s trip to Manchester City.
Kolasinac was forced off during the closing stages of Arsenal’s 2-1 Premier League win over Swansea City at the Emirates last weekend after aggravating a hip injury.
The Bosnian international had played a pivotal role in the game having scored the equaliser before setting-up Aaron Ramsey for the eventual winner midway through the second half.
Arsene Wenger confirmed after the game that Kolasinac had suffered a recurrence of a hip injury and was a major doubt for this weekend’s trip to Manchester City.
The boss then revealed at his press conference yesterday ahead of tonight’s Europa League clash with Red Star Belgrade that the full-back’s injury wasn’t as bad as first feared but he was still facing a race against time to make the City game.
It looks like he’s now winning that race as injury analyst Ben Dinnery – who works for the likes of ESPN and the Metro – has claimed that Kolasinac should be fit this weekend after returning to full training today.
Dinnery tweeted:

The news will come as a major boost to Arsenal as Kolasinac has been a key player since joining the club on a free transfer from Schalke in the summer with the Bosnian impressing in the left wing-back role.
As long as he doesn’t suffer any form of set-back in training over the next 48 hours, it looks like the 24-year-old will be available for Sunday’s trip to Manchester.
