Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang’s agent has flown to London to finalise terms with Arsenal as the Gunners close in on a £53m deal with Borussia Dortmund
The January transfer window is now open so clubs are working hard trying to strengthen their squads for the second half of the season and put deals in place for the summer. Today, Aubameyang’s agent is in London to seal a move to Arsenal…
Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang’s agent has flown to London to finalise terms with Arsenal as the Gunners close in on a £53m deal with Borussia Dortmund, according to reports in Germany via The Sun.
Arsene Wenger is in the market for a new forward as Alexis Sanchez edges closer to joining Manchester United and Aubameyang has emerged as a prime target in recent days.
The Gabon international is reportedly desperate to leave Dortmund after being slapped with his third internal suspension in 12 months after missing a team meeting at the weekend.
He was subsequently axed from the squad that drew with Wolfsburg on Sunday and the rumours have been intensifying that he is on the verge of joining Arsenal this month.
The Sun are now citing a report coming from Bild that claims Aubameyang’s agent, Pierre-Francois, who is also is father, is in London to try and push through a £53m move to the Emirates.
The German publication report that the 28-year-old has handed in a transfer request to force a move to Arsenal and Dortmund are already on the look-out for a replacement striker.
Olivier Giroud has been mentioned as a possible makeweight in any deal that sees Aubameyang join Arsenal but Chelsea forward Michy Batshuayi is also being lined-up by the Bundesliga outfit.
Sanchez has reportedly agreed personal terms with Man Utd while Theo Walcott has completed his move to Everton so it seems Arsenal are making room for the arrival of Aubameyang.
We’ll have to wait and see how negotiations progress over the coming days but I think he’d be an excellent signing for Arsenal as Aubameyang is one of the most prolific strikers in Europe.

He scored 40 goals in all competitions last season and already has 21 to his name this campaign so he’d certainly bring a much-needed goal threat with him if he does complete a move to the Emirates.
