[Tweet] ‘Waste Of Money’ – Arsenal Shareholder Blasts Star After Tottenham Defeat

Arsenal shareholder and celebrity fan Piers Morgan has slammed Granit Xhaka following the Gunners’ 1-0 defeat to Tottenham Hotspur this afternoon.
Xhaka put in another ineffective performance in the middle of the park as Arsenal’s top four hopes were dealt a huge blow with defeat at Wembley earlier today.
Harry Kane’s header early in the second half proved to be the difference between the two sides but in reality the Gunners had Petr Cech to thank for keeping the scoreline respectable as Tottenham could have scored a number of goals.
Alexandre Lacazette came off the bench and wasted a golden chance to snatch a draw in injury time but it was another of Arsenal’s recent big-money buys that felt the wrath of Morgan.
The TV presenter and life-long Arsenal fan – who also owns shares in the club – took to Twitter to blast Xhaka for his performance in midfield by claiming the Swiss international is the biggest waste of £35m in football history.
Morgan tweeted:
Xhaka must be the biggest waste of £35m in football history.

There is no doubt Xhaka has been a huge disappointment since joining Arsenal in 2016 but it is perhaps unfair of Morgan to pick him out today as most of Arsene Wenger’s squad under-performed against Spurs.
