Liverpool have joined the likes of Arsenal, Chelsea and Manchester United in the race to sign £100m-rated Bayer Leverkusen attacker Leon Bailey this summer, according to the Mirror.
Bailey made his name in Belgium during an impressive two-year spell at Genk before joining Leverkusen in January 2017 for an initial fee worth in the region of £12.4m.
The 20-year-old has continued to develop in to one of the hottest young talents in Europe during his time in Germany having provided 10 goals and 5 assists in his 22 appearances so far this campaign.
That impressive form has caught the eye of several teams here in the Premier League as the Mirror claim that Arsenal, Chelsea and Manchester United are all showing a keen interest in signing Bailey this summer.
Arsene Wenger rejuvenated his attack last month but the Arsenal boss is expected to further strengthen his squad in the summer after falling well off the pace this season and Bailey is seemingly on the Frenchman’s radar.
Jose Mourinho signed Alexis Sanchez during the January window but the United boss is still expected to add to his attack again in the summer while Chelsea are also ready to dip in to the market after a frustrating campaign.
Bailey is emerging as a key target for the trio but it looks like they’ll face fresh competition as the Mirror claim that Liverpool have now joined the race for the Jamaican youngsters signature.
Jurgen Klopp failed to sign a replacement for Philippe Coutinho following his move to Barcelona last month and the newspaper says the Liverpool boss has turned his attention to Bailey after cooling his interest in Thomas Lemar.
